    1. Thank you so much for stopping by and your kind comments. I am glad the paintings brought back good memories for you. The Adirondacks are really a special place and I am always so glad when my art evokes any feeling that the landscape evokes in me. ~Rita

  1. You have really captured the beauty of winter. Each painting has a quality of soft tapestry in some ways, I really appreciate your mark-making and the layering.

    1. Thanks Heather! I always appreciate your thoughtful comments! The winter is so beautiful here (a little LONG, but beautiful nonetheless! lol) and its not too difficult to find lots of inspiration. A soft tapestry is such a nice way to describe my work. Thank you! ~Rita

  2. Rita, I am looking at these snow paintings during the peak of a scorchingly hot Australian Summer. I don’t have a lot of experience of snow and the nuances you would’ve experiences living where you do. However, I really loved these and they reminded me of Narnia or maybe something out of Lord of the Rings and I could imagine Cate Blanchette walking out on a white horse. They seem to stimulate the imagination and take you on a journey, which to me is a sign of great art.
    Well done.
